Simulity designs several innovative integration tools that can be used at different steps of Java Card services design and deployment

Cascade platform and remote services
Build around the generic Telecom Platform, the Cascade platform provides the possibility for operators to deploy a Java Card application remotely for pilots and integration purposes.
With the Cascade platform, Simulity provides a way to deploy and test innovative Smartcard services in the field, despite the handsets and/or the card platforms being not available, solving a common integration problem (such as the lack of handsets supporting SATSA (JSR 177) on the market today).
Integration of a Java Card service into the Cascade platform follows these simple steps :
- The Java Card service is automatically converted into a multi-user server application. This conversion can be done blindly (with no access to the source code, thus not revealing the application proprietary algorithms) in most cases.
- Smartcard service users are defined - these users will be able to connect through a virtual smartcard reader (APIs provided for Windows desktop, Windows mobile and J2ME MIDP) to the hosted Smartcard service.
- The service administrator can follow the users interactions with the service and performs maintenance operations from a web interface.
Summary of Cascade features :
- Test remotely a Java Card service with no security compromise.
- The application can be hosted locally or in ASP mode.
Cascade and SAT services
To demonstrate the flexibility of the SATlite platform, Simulity hosts a Sim Application Toolkit showroom, with the rendering part of the application hosted in the web browser.
This showroom is directly connected to the associated service built on top of the Telecom Platform - the virtual handset operates in the real deployment server environment with no simulation compromise.
Embedded Smartcard
This is an embedded version of the Cascade platform, build for a single user and typically used to test non security critical Smartcard services directly from a handset application
Features
- Run on Java (MIDP, Personal Java) and Windows Mobile handsets
- Check the benefits of a smartcard application for a minimal cost, without installing the application on your actual subscription
